Opens a megastore in Mons

The new store has 1,300 m2 and stocks the WOMAN, MAN, KIDS and BABY lines

Barcelona, 20 December 2016 – MANGO is consolidating its presence in Belgium with the opening of a new store. The city of Mons will open a store with over 1300 m2, distributed on a single floor, and is the fashion chain’s fifth megastore in the country.

With the opening of this new megastore, located in the Les Grands Prés shopping centre, MANGO has multiplied its presence in the centre by six, where it has had a presence with a 200 m2 store which stocks the Woman line since 2003. The new store stocks the woman’s (MANGO), men’s (MANGO Man), children’s (MANGO Kids) and baby (MANGO Baby) lines and is now the 41st MANGO store in the country, since the brand first arrived in the Belgium capital in 1995.

As well as Mons, other Belgian cities such as Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp already have a megastore, bringing to 5 the total number of megastores in the country. First implemented worldwide in late 2013, the megastore concept is based on stores with a selling space of between 800 and 3000 m2 that stock all or most of the group’s lines. Worldwide, during the last 3 years the company has transformed over 24% of its selling space in accordance with this concept and has opened 191 stores of this type.

MANGO was founded in 1984 and is today one of the leading fashion groups in the world. Based in its city of origin, Barcelona, the company has an extensive store network of 800,000 m2 in 110 countries. From its “El Hangar” Design Centre in Palau-solità i Plegamans, every year it designs 18,000 garments and accessories for wearing the season’s trends. The company, which owns the MANGO Woman, Man, Kids and Violeta lines, closed 2015 with sales of 2.327 billion euros, representing a 15% increase on 2014 and an EBITDA of 170 million euros.
